The Danforth is classic east-end Toronto: brick Edwardian semis, detached family homes and a lively main street where owners want a home that keeps up with a busy household. That means the everyday list — mounting a TV, patching plaster, re-hanging a door that's dropped, swapping a vanity, fixing failing caulk — plus the older-home quirks our builder-trained technicians handle without guesswork. Most jobs around Greektown, Playter Estates and Riverdale are booked same-day or next-day and done in one to three hours.
From a leaky faucet near Withrow Park to a full move-out punch-list off Pape, we charge the same flat $150 / $280 / $410 rates we offer across Toronto — no trip charge for the east end. Licensed, insured, WSIB-covered and backed by our workmanship guarantee.

Walk the side streets off the Danforth between Broadview and Coxwell and you will see the same pattern repeat: pairs of brick semis with front porches, steep interior stairs, and basements that have been finished at least once, often as a separate suite. Those houses are practical and well loved, but they get a lot of use, and the repairs follow the use. Our most common Danforth calls are about doors, stairs, bathrooms and basements.
In Playter Estates and the streets near Withrow Park, many homes have original plaster upstairs and newer drywall in the renovated areas, which means mixed walls that need different repair methods in the same room. Doors that have dropped on their hinges, bathroom caulking that has given up, and loose stair balusters are routine work. Around Pape and Chester, a lot of owners rent out the lower level, and we often handle the turnover list between tenants: patching and painting walls, replacing a vanity or faucet, re-hanging doors, fixing closet tracks and securing loose handrails on the basement stair. Landlords can find more detail on our handyman for landlords page.
Riverdale homes near the Don Valley edge are often a little older and larger, with deeper lots and bigger kitchens, and there we see more requests for shelving, fixture swaps and TV mounting on brick party walls. Mounting into brick takes masonry anchors set in the brick itself; we do it cleanly and tell you before drilling if old wiring or plumbing is likely to be in the way.
Parking on the residential side streets is mostly permit-based, and the Danforth itself has its own stopping and parking restrictions. We plan around both and arrive with what the job needs so there is no second trip.
Labour is charged at the same flat Toronto rates, with materials billed at supplier cost and the receipt included. If a repair needs a licensed plumber or electrician, for example moving a drain or adding a circuit, we tell you plainly and coordinate it. See all our Toronto handyman services for the full list of what we do.
