Interior & exterior painting, drywall installation, repair, taping, popcorn-ceiling removal. Prep is 80% of a paint job — we don't skip it.
BuildMan is a Toronto and GTA painting contractor for interior and exterior painting, drywall repair, new drywall and taping. An average bedroom (single colour, walls only) typically runs $400–$700, and a main floor with trim and ceilings $2,500–$5,000. Most single rooms take 1 day, and exterior painting runs May through October, weather permitting. Call (905) 660-9992 or request a free consult and fixed-price quote.
Anyone can roll on paint. The reason a room looks great 5 years later is what happened before the paint went on — sanding, priming, drywall mud, caulk lines. That's what we focus on.
Walls, ceilings, trim, doors. Two finish coats over primer, cut-in by hand.
Pressure-wash, scrape, prime, paint. Stucco, siding, brick, fascia, doors.
Holes patched, mudded, feathered, sanded, primed. Texture-matched if needed.
Hung, taped, mudded, finished — ready for primer.
Doors and drawer fronts sprayed off-site, frames painted in place.
Accent walls, colour-blocked rooms, wallpaper, trim work, wainscoting.

A renovation is a major investment in your home. Here's the experience and accountability behind every BuildMan project.
15+ years building and renovating GTA homes from the ground up — not a general handyman doing renovations on the side. That structural knowledge is why our finishes last.
Full liability insurance and WSIB coverage on every trade on your site, so your home and our crew are protected throughout the build.
Registered with Ontario's Tarion new-home warranty program — a bar most renovators never have to meet.
A single all-in quote and one point of contact from demo to sign-off. No open-ended hourly billing, no chasing five separate trades.
Real, verified reviews from GTA homeowners — read them on our Google listing.
We file, schedule and pass every required building, plumbing and electrical permit and inspection — you never deal with the city.
The paint itself is the easy part. What separates a job that lasts from one that peels is reading the surface first, and Toronto's housing stock gives painters a lot to read. Pre-war homes in the Annex, Riverdale or the Beaches often have original plaster on lath with hairline cracks that reopen if they are just filled and painted; they need cutting out, taping and a bonding primer. Trim in older houses is frequently oil-based under the newer coats, and latex rolled straight over oil will scratch and peel off in sheets. We test, de-gloss and prime with an adhesion primer before any finish coat goes on.
Age brings other checks. Homes built before the 1960s can have lead in older paint layers, so we test before sanding and contain the dust. Textured popcorn ceilings from that era can contain asbestos and should be tested before anyone scrapes them. Newer GTA subdivisions in Vaughan, Markham or Brampton bring a different problem: builder-grade flat paint and nail pops along drywall seams that need resetting and re-taping before a new colour will look right.
Exterior work has its own rules. We don't paint on cold mornings or when rain is due, and we look hard at what is being painted: wood siding and Victorian trim need scraping and spot-priming, while previously unpainted brick usually shouldn't be painted at all, because a film coating can trap moisture in old masonry. Sheen matters too; flat or matte on ceilings, eggshell on walls and a harder semi-gloss on trim and doors hold up best in busy homes.
For room-by-room interior work, see our interior painting page, and for patching, new boards and taping before paint, our drywall and walls service.
