Decks & Patios

A deck done by builders, not a deck crew.

Most deck companies build the same 12×16 platform a hundred times a year. We've built decks that integrate with two-storey additions, infinity pools, and historic homes. The structural and finishing skills carry over.

  • Pressure-treated, cedar, composite. Trex, TimberTech, AZEK and pressure-treated SPF — your call, our install.
  • Permitted builds. Any deck over 24" off grade requires a permit in Toronto. We handle it.
  • Multi-level decks. Stairs, transitions, hidden fasteners, grade-level integration.
  • Railings & privacy. Aluminum, glass, cable, composite balusters, custom privacy screens.
  • Repair & restoration. Joist replacements, board swaps, refinishing, structural repairs.

FAQ

Decks & Patios — common questions

Do I need a permit for a deck?

Any deck higher than 24" off grade requires a permit from the City of Toronto. We file, schedule inspections, and pass them as part of every build.

How long does a deck take to build?

5–10 working days for a standard 200 sq ft deck on simple terrain. Multi-level builds, complex sites, or composite installations with mitered corners can run 14–21 days.

Cedar vs composite — what do you recommend?

Composite (Trex, TimberTech) is lower-maintenance, lasts 25+ years, and the modern colours look excellent. Cedar is warmer-feeling but needs re-oiling every 2–3 years. Both have their place — depends on your maintenance preference and budget.
