By BuildMan · Flat-rate handyman from $150

Flat-rate pricing only helps if you know what you're getting. Here's a clear, no-surprises breakdown of what a BuildMan handyman visit includes at each tier — what fits, what's covered, and what's billed separately — so you can plan a booking that gets the most done.

The three flat rates

VisitPriceGood for
1 Hour$150One quick fix or single install
2 Hours$255 (save $45)A short punch-list of 2–4 jobs
3 Hours$340 (save $110)A proper half-day list

After three hours, additional time is $85/hour. If a job needs a second technician (a large TV, a heavy door), the hours for that portion are doubled — we always tell you before starting.

What fits in a 1-hour visit ($150)

  • Mount one TV (up to ~55″) with basic cable tidy
  • Swap a faucet or shower head
  • Install 1–2 light fixtures where wiring exists
  • Assemble a single piece of furniture
  • Re-hang or adjust a sticking door

What fits in a 2-hour visit ($255)

  • A mix like: TV mount + faucet swap + a couple of shelves
  • Patch and sand two or three drywall holes
  • Install a dishwasher or hook up a washer/dryer plus a small extra job
  • Assemble a bed and a dresser

What fits in a 3-hour visit ($340)

  • A full room's honey-do list — mounting, fixtures, a door, minor plumbing
  • A small room paint touch-up with prep
  • A move-in or rental turnover punch-list

What's always included

  • Travel anywhere in Toronto and the GTA — no trip charge
  • Builder-trained technicians and their tools
  • The correct anchors and hardware for your wall type
  • Clean-up and a quick test that everything works
  • Our workmanship guarantee

What's billed separately

  • Materials — a faucet, a mount, paint, tile — at supplier cost with the receipt
  • Time beyond 3 hours at $85/hour
  • A second technician's hours for heavy two-person jobs

How to get the most from a visit

Two tips: bundle your jobs into one booking (a 3-hour visit beats three separate 1-hour call-outs), and send photos and product info when you book so we arrive with the right tools and parts and finish on the first visit. Not sure how long your list will take? Tell us what's on it and we'll recommend the tier. For more on pricing, see our full handyman cost guide.

Frequently asked questions

What's the minimum charge for a handyman?

Our minimum is the 1-hour flat rate of $150, which already includes travel anywhere in the GTA — there's no separate trip fee or call-out charge on top.

What happens if my job runs over the hour?

For a single small job we aim to finish within the tier you booked. If your list clearly needs more time, we'll agree on the 2- or 3-hour rate up front — you're never surprised by the bill.

Are materials included in the flat rate?

No — labour is flat-rate; materials (faucets, mounts, paint, anchors) are billed at supplier cost with the receipt. We confirm material costs before buying anything.

Can I combine different types of jobs in one visit?

Yes, that's the best way to use flat-rate pricing. A single 2- or 3-hour visit can cover plumbing, mounting, drywall and doors — we work through your list in priority order.
